Subject: IF People Don't Notice Your Important Link

Hi {Name},

On your website, you have one link that
you want people to click-on more than
any other link.

Everyone who owns a website has an
important link, like this.

If you look at your analytics, you may see
people clicking links all over your website
but they seem to dance around your most
important link without ever touching it.

This link may be to your money page, or
to your email subscription page or something
else entirely different.

And, the destination of this "most important"
link may change over time.

Nevertheless, there will always be a special link
that you will struggle to have people click.

Is it Murphy's Law that people don't seem to
notice it?

No, it's more likely that you are...

A. To desperately asking for the click,
and thus scaring people away.
B. Not drawing enough attention to the
link to be noticed.

Some website owners make cheesy banner
ads, that seem to beg people for clicks, and
people have been conditioned to ignore such
self-serving online displays.

Other website owners, play down their most
important link, or try to disguise them to look like
something they are not - which is also un-effective.

However, if you visit big international websites
like the Amazon, CNN, and the Huffington Post
you'll see how important links are sometimes
treated.

Ultra successful websites like these, and many
others, often use what is called an "attention bar"
to attract attention to important links.

They may not use them all the time, but if you
pay attention you will see websites that obviously
know how to get what they want by using attention
bars to attract attention to these important links.

These attention bars often scroll down from
the top of the page a few seconds after the
page has already loaded, and then often follow
you down the page with a small line of sales
copy and a link.

These attention bars use an understated elegance
to showcase important links in a way that viewers
can't seem to ignore.

The links they offer also seem to be received
better by the average web surfer because the
web surfer doesn't feel rushed to click on them
and can do-so on their own terms in the course
of visiting the website.
